With a new season comes new ballpark food. This year there’s more than a dozen delicacies on the ballpark menu. Perhaps the most notable one is The Fowl Pole, a two-pound chicken tender hand battered and fried to crispy perfection. It is served on a bed of waffle fries with honey mustard and ranch dressing.
“Every year we try to come up with something new and tasty,” said executive chef Chris Vazquez, who is beginning his 13th year at the stadium. The native of Aguascalientes, Mexico also said they try to put a Latin flavor in some of the dishes like the Street Tacos and Vegan Street Tacos. Both tacos are served with Pico de Gallo
Vazquez is also proud that Globe Life Park is among the top on PETA's (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) list of top vegan-friendly ballparks. Besides the Vegan Street Tacos there is the Beyond Vegan Burger, and the Fresh Veggie Wrap.
Still there are plenty of meat products on the menu.
Although hot dogs are fan favorites at any ballpark, the Rangers this year will showcase the RWB (Red, White & Blue) Dog. It is a combination of pickles, sweet and spicy relish in Texas Rangers Red and Blue colors along with white onions on a Texas Chile all beef hot dog.
Believing that everything is better when you add bacon, Rangers fans can feast on the Bacon Wrapped Wings.
Other dishes include the Grilled Chicken Salad, the Chipotle Chicken Wrap, the Right Field Bacon Bombs, the State Fare Corn Dog and Breakfast on a Stick that’s delicious any time of day.
Then there is the Fantastic Family Meal that includes a ballpark jumbo dog, foot-long corndog and chicken tender served with a Texas sized portion of fries and dipping sauces.
For those with a sweet tooth you can delight on Belgian Waffle Sundae or the Fried P&J (peanut butter and jelly sandwich).
If you plan to indulge in the new stadium food be prepared to dig deep in your pocket as the food prices range from $7.50 for the Grill Chicken Salad to $27.50 for The Fowl Pole and also for the Fantastic Family Meal.
