Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) customers should watch for schedule changes at the start of this year's Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

DART buses and light rail trains will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day, Thurs., Nov. 28, meaning many routes will be scaled back or won't operate at all, and on a Saturday schedule Fri., Nov. 29.

The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) commuter train will not operate Thanksgiving Day and provide Saturday service on Friday.

DART and TRE holiday changes will continue until regular scheduled transit service resumes Sat., Nov. 30.

Turkey Trot
Buses in Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum and North Oak Cliff could see delays Thanksgiving morning and be affected by detours or reroutes, especially those running near the 2019 Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot, one of the largest multi-event races in the country.

DART Rail will operate three additional Red Line trains and one additional Blue Line train on Thursday morning due to the Turkey Trot.

Additional Red Line trains from Parker Road Station depart at 7:13 a.m., 7:43 a.m. and 8:13 a.m. and arrive at Convention Center Station at 8:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. These trains operate to all stations between Parker Road and Cedars stations.

An additional Blue Line train from Downtown Rowlett Station departs at 7:22 a.m. and arrives at Convention Center Station at 8:05 a.m. This train operates to all stations between Downtown Rowlett and Cedars stations.

The race will impact bus service and place several routes on detour Thanksgiving morning beginning at 7 a.m. Routes affected include: 2, 11, 12, 19, 21, 26, 29, 35, 42, 52, 59, 60, 76, 81/82, 110, 111, 161, 164 and 749.

Rail Replacement
DART's rail replacement project concludes Thanksgiving weekend. Buses will replace trains in downtown Dallas from Fri., Nov. 29 to Sun., Dec 1.

Work will impact the Red and Blue Lines between West End Station and Pearl/Arts District Station, the Green Line between Victory and Deep Ellum Stations, and the Orange Line between Victory and LBJ/Central Station, and between Victory Station and Parker Road Station.

Five separate DART shuttle bus routes will operate during the three day closure to serve the affected downtown stations. Customers should look for red "Rail Disruption" bus stops at those stations.

Two routes stop at every Central Business District station. Two express routes connect Pearl/Arts District Station, West End Station and Victory Station. One express route travels between Mockingbird Station and Bachman Station.

Stars Game
Service following the Dallas Stars - St. Louis Blues game at American Airlines Center Fri., Nov 29, will see a change. Since the usual Red and Blue line special event trains will not operate, an express bus shuttle will be available from Victory Station to SMU/Mockingbird Station after the game. Look for the buses with MOCKINGBIRD STATION on the destination sign.

At SMU/Mockingbird Station, riders can transfer to a Red or Blue line train to continue their trip home. Express bus route 933 to Pearl/Arts District Station and local bus route 934 to downtown stations will also be available from Victory Station.
